Jean-Philippe Wadle
Jean-Philippe Wadle (born September 19, 1980 in Pirmasens ) is a German jazz musician (double bass).
Wadle, who initially played the electric bass , switched to the double bass in 1997 . In 1998 and 2001 he won first prize at Jugend jazzt and between 2002 and 2006 he studied double bass at the music academies in Mainz and Cologne. In 2003 he founded his own Bassface Swing Trio , which still exists today. Wadle has worked with musicians such as Tom Gaebel , Dee Dee Bridgewater , Lalo Schifrin , Tony Lakatos , Axel Schlosser , Ralf Hesse , Scott Hamilton, Manfred Schoof, Ack van Rooyen , Hans Dekker, Bruno Müller, HR BigBand, Wolfgang Haffner, but also with Katja Ebstein , Marshall-Alexander and Tony Marshall and has been part of Emil Mangelsdorff's quartet since 2015 . He can also be heard on albums by Gee Hye Lee , Daniel Stelter, Andreas Gabalier and Eugene Ruffulo.
