Bernard Bouvier
Bernard Bouvier (born September 8, 1861 in Geneva , † July 18, 1941 ibid) was a Swiss German and Romance studies , rector of the University of Geneva .
life and work
Bouvier studied from 1883 to 1886 at the École normal supérieure (Paris) and was French lecturer at the University of Berlin from 1887 to 1889 . From 1890 to 1895 he was professor of German language and literature at the University of Geneva and from 1895 to 1924 (as the successor to Édouard Rod ) professor of French literature (from 1906 to 1908 also rector). Scientifically, he was best known as the editor of the work of Henri-Frédéric Amiel .
