The Torfbahn Gussewskoje ( Russian Узкоколейная железная дорога Гусевского торфопредприятия / Uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga Gussewskowo torfopredprijatija ; also Torfbahn Gusevskoje ) is a light railway in the Russian Vladimir Oblast .

history

The first section of the narrow-gauge railway was opened in 1920. From the former 91 km long field railway with a gauge of 750 mm, a remaining distance of 20 km is still available today. It connects the urban-type settlement Mesinowski and Gussewski with the peat bog area . In 2010 the “ENBIMA Group” peat plant ( Russian ЗАО “ЭНБИМА Групп” ) was built in Gusewski and put into operation. In 2011, another peat plant “Vladimir-peat” ( Russian ООО “Владторф” , GmbH ) was built in Mesinovskoye.
