Bernard Cadenat (born January 2, 1853 in Pexiora , Département Aude , † August 1, 1930 in Marseille ) was a French politician and mayor of Marseille. From 1898 to 1919 and from 1924 to 1930 he was a member of the National Assembly .

Cadenat came from a humble background, his father was a street vendor and his mother a housewife. He went to Marseille and became a shoemaker there . A little later he founded a shoemaker's union and became its chairman. He joined the Parti ouvrier français by Jules Guesde in later from the SFIO emerged. In 1886 he became a member of the city council of Marseille, in 1892 he became deputy mayor. When he ran in the elections for the National Assembly in 1893, he had to admit defeat to Auguste Bouge . In 1898 he was able to beat Bouge and enter parliament. He was re-elected four times until he narrowly failed to return to parliament in 1919. In addition to his function as a member of parliament, he was mayor of Marseille from 1910 to 1912. In 1924 he was able to move into the National Assembly again and defend his mandate in a by-election in 1928. He remained in Parliament until his death on August 1, 1930.
