Bernard Cousino
Bernard August Cousino (born August 1, 1902 in Toledo ( Ohio ), † December 29, 1994 in Lee ( Florida )) was an American sound engineer and inventor in the field of sound engineering .
Life
In the 1950s, Cousino ran his electronics company, Cousinos Electronic Workshop, in Toledo. In 1952, George Eash rented a desk in this office in order to work from there for an advertising agency.
Cousino was on the board of the Magnetic Recording Industry Association (MRIA). He was the inventor of the endless cassette , which dominated the North American market for tape for some time .
In 1952, he became famous for his technical invention, Audio Vendor, which was based on an endless loop of tape .
Another patented invention was the graphite-coated tape on the back , which made it possible to pull it out of the endless reel without wrinkling.
Cousino was married and had a son.
