Bernard Epin

Bernard Epin (born May 27, 1936 in Paris , † April 1, 2020 ) was a French writer and literary critic .

Life

Bernard Epin was born into a working class family. He attended a school in the 14th arrondissement . He spent his military service in Algeria . He joined the Parti communiste français in 1954 . From 1957 he was part of the editorial team of the communist magazine L'École et la Nation and later also its deputy editor. He also wrote for the magazines Révolution , Regards and L'Humanité . He specialized in children's literature as well as the literary criticism of these books. In addition, he published several essays and books.

From 1965 to 2001 he was also mayor of Saint-Ouen .

On April 1, 2020, Epin died during the COVID-19 pandemic in France as a result of a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
