The series OS T5-T8 were underground - railcars for the trolley operation, by AS Oslo Sporveier for the routes of the Oslo T-bane with catenary in the Norwegian capital Oslo in the T5 and T6 Series newly acquired and in the series T7 and T8 were converted from existing vehicles of the T4 series. The vehicles were used on the western routes of the city.
history
In 1959 two single car units with the designation T were built, which were designed as prototypes for the Oslo subway. After a one-year test, they were used on the Kolsåsbanen regular service, where they remained in regular service until 1983.
After the OS T1 – T4 vehicles purchased from 1964 , which only had one pantograph for busbars , Oslo Sporveier wanted to use more modern vehicles on the lines equipped with overhead lines.
The also commonly used designation T1300 refers to the entire series with the 49 vehicles.
The new-build vehicles and the T7 series have an electric resistance brake , rail brakes, disc brakes with compressed air and a handbrake on each bogie. The vehicles of the T8 series do not have a rail brake. All vehicles of the series T1 to T8 can be coupled with the automatic coupling.
Series
T5, T6
The series T5 (with one driver's cab) and T6 (with two driver's cabs) were the first subway cars with overhead lines, which were bought between 1978 and 1981 for the routes in the west of the city. They were equipped with an automatic Scharfenberg coupling at each end of the car.
Both series were only supplied with a pantograph and retrofitted later with a pantograph for the conductor rail.
T7, T8
From 1985 to 1987, the T4 1151, 1155, 1154, 1156, 1150, 1157, 1152, 1153, 1158 and 1159 cars built between 1976 and 1977 were converted in this order at Strømmens Værksted into the T7 series 1334 to 1343.
In 1989, the T4 1160, 1161, 1147, 1149, 1162 and 1148 cars built between 1976 and 1977 were converted in this order at Strømmens Værksted into the T8 series 1344 to 1349.
Before the conversion, the cars only had one pantograph for busbars and received a pantograph for use under the overhead line.
commitment
The vehicles were housed in the Avløs and Majorstuen car workshops .
Before the eastern and western networks were merged in 1993, the T5 to T8 series cars only ran on the western network, and the T1 to T4 series cars only on the eastern network.
After the delivery of the MX3000 series , the last wagon was removed for scrapping on April 22, 2010.
Received vehicles
The cars 1306, 1320 and 1335 have been preserved. Originally the car was intended for preservation in 1328 at the scrap company Oppland Metall , which had scrapped all other vehicles. However, it was also dismantled in the winter of 2012.
