Strømmens Værksted
Strømmens Værksted was a Norwegian wagon construction company and a former automobile manufacturer.
Company history
The company AS Strømmens Værksted from Strømmen was founded in 1873 as a steel mill and began producing automobiles in 1933, which were marketed as Strømmen . In 1936 the production of own models was stopped. Between 1933 and 1940, vehicles were also manufactured under license from Dodge and sold under the brand name Strømmen-Dodge . In 1970 the steel division ( Strømmen Stål A / S ) was split off. In 1978 Strømmens Værksted was taken over by Norsk Elektrisk & Brown Boveri (NEBB), went to ABB in 1988 , to Adtranz in 1996 and to Bombardier Transportation in 2001 .
Motor vehicles
Large vehicles based on Dodge were built between 1933 and 1936. The vehicles with the extended wheelbase offered seven seats in the body shape of a four-door sedan .
Rail vehicles
Strømmens Værksted was involved in the development and manufacture of numerous rail vehicles for Norges Statsbaner and Oslo T-bane . The products include the Cmb14, Cmb17a , 69 , 71 , 73 , 86, 87, 88, 91 and 93 locomotives, the Ea 1 , Sk 1 and El 18 locomotives, the B3, B5, B7 passenger car types and the train of the Norwegian royal family , the subway trains T1 – T4 and T5 – T8 and the Oslo tram SL79 .
