history
In 1959 two single car units with the designation T were built, which were designed as prototypes for the Oslo subway. After a one-year test, they were used in the regular service of Kolsåsbane , where they remained in regular service until 1983.
The also commonly used designation T1000 refers to the entire class with the 162 vehicles that are only equipped with a pantograph for conductor rails and could not be used on routes with overhead lines.
The vehicles have an electrical resistance brake, compressed air brake and a handbrake on each bogie. All vehicles of the series T1 to T8 can be coupled with the automatic coupling.
Series
T1, T2
The series T1-2 (with two driver's cabs) and T1-1 and T2 (with one driver's cab) were the first subway cars that were bought between 1964 and 1967 for the opening of the routes in the east of the city.
T3, T4
The T3 series was purchased between 1969 and 1972 and the T4 series between 1975 and 1977. The main difference to the series T1 and T2 is the equipment with disc brakes .
T5-T8
OS T5 – T8 denotes a series of 33 new builds (T5, T6) and 16 converted T4 trains (T7, T8), which were equipped with pantographs for overhead line operation and could be used in the western part of the network before it was converted to busbar operation .
commitment
All vehicles of the series T1 to T4 were located in the Ryen car workshop .
The vehicles not converted into series T7 and T8 received a new interior and a new paint job between 1995 and 1998.
After the delivery of the MX3000 series , the last car of the series was used in regular service on June 19, 2009. On August 25, 2009, the last wagon was sent to be scrapped.
Received vehicles
With the exception of eight historic cars, all units were scrapped. Six of them were preserved as operational railcars. Car 1089 is exhibited in the Sporveismuseet of the Lokaltrafikkhistorisk forening (LTF). The earlier car 1155 was converted to the T7 car 1335 and is still there.
