history

Today's griephan letters began in 1964 as military service - the information letter for the defense industry . This was initially published by Wehrdienst-Verlag in Bonn, and later by Griephan-Verlag in Hamburg until 2008 . The founder was Hans-Joachim Griephan .

From 1964 to 1993, Griephan was the military service magazine . The information letter for the defense industry out. As a service, it provided a wealth of information that was previously only informally available, which the associations, company representatives and industrial consultants based in the Bonn area were able to make their own, which in turn were shown in a "lobby list", from which, however, the names in parliaments changed interest representatives. The military service aimed at companies as well as members of parliament.

The military service reported news from the arms sector that the Defense Ministry did not publish, and also supported the exchange of personnel between government agencies and the defense industry. To the military service , Griephan gradually added further information services for the award of public contracts ("government business") beyond the arms business ( information from politics and business with information on civil authority business with the federal government, special prints for business with organizational overviews from ministries and authorities of the Federal as well as Bonn contact and Berlin contact ). The Griephan letters played a prominent role (“Anyone who wants to draw sales and profits from the billion-dollar government procurement market” should use their information “to acquire orders from government agencies”). All of Griephan's information letters were published by the Wehrdienst Verlag, which he founded, later renamed Bonnkontakt Verlag and Griephan Verlag.

In 1994 the name was changed to Griephan Letters - weekly economic service for doing business with the state ( ISSN  1437-4684 ). In 2002 the letters were continued as Griephan Wehrdienst - weekly information on the defense technology business ( ISSN  1611-0900 ) and finally from the 03/2004 edition as Griephan letters - weekly information on the defense technology business . The last print edition was published on April 3, 2017. Since then, the griephan letters have been published online.
