Bernd-Uwe Hildebrandt

Bernd-Uwe Hildebrandt (born March 21, 1958 in Magdeburg ) is a German sports official.

From 1990 to 2007 Hildebrandt was the manager of the first men's handball team at SC Magdeburg . In addition to many other titles, the Champions League was won in 2002 . Due to a tax evasion scandal, Hildebrand resigned from his position in March 2007 in order to avert damage to the club, according to his own statements.

Hildebrandt was also the managing director of the Magdeburg-Halle Olympic Training Center from 1990 to 2007. He was released from this post due to pending tax evasion proceedings. He was able to win the process that Hildebrandt put through to reinstate him. The Olympic training center announced that it will appeal the judgment of the labor court. From 2001 to 2007 Hildebrand was managing director of the non-profit society for the promotion of competitive sports (gGFL) and the house of athletes (HdA).

On the part of the gGFL, allegations were made that Hildebrandt had personally enriched himself over the years and also misused public sports funding for the purposes of SC Magdeburg; the evidence in question was examined by the public prosecutor's office. The proceedings against Hildebrandt were discontinued on December 10, 2009 against payment of 10,000 euros.

From 2005 to 2007 Hildebrandt was the successor to Heinz Jacobsen as chairman of the handball Bundesliga . He resigned from this post as a result of the tax evasion scandal. Reiner Witte was elected as his successor .

From November 2010 to June 2011 Hildebrandt acted as chairman of the board of Empor Handball GmbH from Rostock, of which he is also one of the shareholders.

Private

Hildebrandt is married and has a daughter. In his youth Hildebrandt was a performance rowers active.
