Pure Witte

Reiner Witte (born March 15, 1955 ) is a German lawyer and former handball goalkeeper . From 2008 to 2014 he was President of the League Association of the Handball Bundesliga .

Witte learned the handball game at ATSV habenhausen under coach Hinrich Schwenker . At TV Grambke-Bremen he played in the handball Bundesliga ; he played five international matches for the German national team .

The lawyer was for many years chairman of the North German handball association and since 2002 vice-president law of the German Handball Federation (DHB) . At the Bundestag of the DHB in October 2008, he no longer ran for this post.

In June 2008, Witte was elected as the successor to the resigned Bernd-Uwe Hildebrandt as President of the League Association of the Toyota Handball Bundesliga without a dissenting vote. Witte emphasized: “I'm looking forward to my job, which is full of perspectives and challenges. Anyone who knows me knows that as league president I will stand up for the interests of all clubs in the 1st and 2nd leagues ”. After he did not run for re-election in 2014 for personal and health reasons, Uwe Schwenker was elected as his successor.

Witte is married and has two children, he lives in Langwedel (Weser) .
