Bernd-Wilfried Kießler

Bernd-Wilfried Kießler (born February 6, 1945 in Thalberg ) is a German journalist and specialist book author .

Life

Kießler lived in Torgau (Elbe) until he was 13 , in Saarland from 1958, and in the greater Stuttgart area since 1969 .

After graduating from high school in Ottweiler / Saar in 1964 , he was admitted to the Saarland University in 1969 in the subjects of Slavic Studies and Ev. Theology for Dr. phil. PhD. His dissertation is entitled "The Heresy of the Strigol'niki".

After an internship at a newspaper in Stuttgart, he worked as an editor for various magazines before setting up his own editorial office in 1977. In 1984 he designed the customer magazine “ Via Volvo ” and headed its editorial department until it was closed in 1987.

Kießler wrote for all the well-known national West German daily newspapers and worked for twelve years at SDR in Stuttgart for radio and television on the topics of culture, social issues, church, travel, gastronomy, science and automotive technology. Among other things, he shot the television portrait " A Porsche called Piëch " about Dr. Ferdinand Piëch .

From 1990 he published non-fiction books, including company chronicles from Nissan , Daihatsu and Škoda as well as guides to French and English houseboat areas. Their most successful » Canal du Midi «, describes the navigable waters of southern France, was published five times and has been translated into English.

Since 2005 he has been involved in the writing and publication of memoirs, including those of Gerhard Woyda, the founder and long-time director of the Stuttgart Renitenztheater (" That mockers love. How I brought cabaret to the Swabians ").

Bernd-Wilfried Kießler is married and has two children.
