Bernd Baselt
Bernd Baselt (born September 13, 1934 in Halle (Saale) ; † October 18, 1993 in Hanover ) was a German musicologist. He was a professor at the Martin Luther University in Halle. Since 1991 he has been a full member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences .
His most important work is the Handel Works Directory (HWV), which is now used around the world and whose three volumes were published between 1978 and 1986. From 1991 to 1993 he was President of the Georg Friedrich Händel Society in Halle.
In 1979 he was awarded the Handel Prize of the Halle district .
