Handel works directory
The Handel Works Directory (HWV) is the most common directory of the works of George Frideric Handel . It is organized thematically and was presented by Bernd Baselt between 1978 and 1986 as a list of the works of Georg Friedrich Handel in the Handel Yearbook (HJb). Since then there have been some additions and corrections, but the original numbering is still used.
The thematic catalog represents the opening bars of each individual work and provides extensive information (e.g. on handwritten sources, early prints, etc.).
