Bernd Epler

Bernhard Arthur "Bernd" Epler (born February 26, 1949 in Büsum ) is a former German middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800 meter distance .

In 1971 he came third at the German Indoor Championships and won bronze in the 4 x 800 meter relay at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Sofia with the German team. In 1972 he again finished sixth at the German indoor championships.

He set his personal best of 1: 49.9 minutes on August 30, 1970 in Bonn, and on July 24, 1971 he achieved the same time again in Bonn.

Bernd Epler started at MTV Heide , moved to Holstein Kiel in 1966 and started for Hamburger SV in 1969 . After 1972 he was no longer active as an athlete, but played handball for several years at Hamburger SV.
