The MTV Heide is a sports club from Heide in the Dithmarschen district . The first men's soccer team played in the highest amateur league in Schleswig-Holstein for eight years . The first women's handball team played in the Regionalliga Nordost for a year . The first women's volleyball team played in the Regionalliga Nord for two years.
history
The association was founded on May 22nd, 1860. In 1905 Heider FC split off as a pure football club. In 1914 this merged with FC Holstein Heide to form Heider SpVgg , which from 1919 was called VfL 05 Heide . Disgruntled members split off from this association in 1925 as Heider SV . The remaining club merged with MTV Heide to form VfL 1860 Heide , which was called MTV Heide after the Second World War .
Soccer
In terms of sport, the club was able to draw attention to itself for the first time in the 1920s when VfL 05 played for two years in the Schleswig-Holstein district league. In 1953 the MTV was one of the founding members of the district class West and was champion for the first time seven years later. In the playoff against VfB Kiel , promotion was missed. From 1963 to 1966, the MTV was four times in a row champion of the now 2. Amateur League West called division. But it wasn't until 1966 that the team made it to the Schleswig-Holstein amateur league . In the Upper House of Schleswig-Holstein, the Heider rarely got beyond the relegation battle and had to relegate in 1974.
Two years later, the MTV slipped into the district league and in 1981 had to go into the district class. After the direct resurgence, better times did not dawn until the late 1980s. After the runner-up in 1990 and 1992, he was promoted to the Landesliga Süd in 1995 . As bottom of the table it went back to the district league; the MTV 2000 descended from with just two points. After that, the MTV footballers only played at the district level and last put a team in the district class B in the 2007/08 season. The team disbanded after the season and no more games took place.
From the 2017/18 season there will again be a men's team of the MTV, which will start in the lowest division Dithmarschens. The preparations for this already started during the winter break of the 2016/17 season.
Handball
The handball players of MTV Heide played in the 2003/04 season in the Regionalliga Nordost. As the penultimate they had to dismount directly. In the 2018/19 season, the team won the championship in the Oberliga Hamburg - Schleswig-Holstein and rose to the 3rd division . The first men's team competes in the district league.
volleyball
Since the 1970s, the MTV Heide volleyball players have been playing with several teams in the women's, men's and youth areas in various leagues in Schleswig-Holstein. In the 1995/96 season and in the 2000/01 season, the first women's team played in the Regionalliga Nord.
