Bernd Florschütz (born March 28, 1942 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper. For BSG Motor Steinach he guarded the gate in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football , from 1963 to 1965 .

Athletic career

After BSG Motor Steinach was promoted to the GDR league in 1963 and their previous goalkeeper Langhammer had ended his active career, the BSG signed the 21-year-old Bernd Florschütz, who had previously been in goal at the third-class BSG Motor Mitte Suhl, as the new goalkeeper . First of all, coach Heinz Leib gave priority to goalkeeper Klaus Heinzel , who had also just joined the team, and who had guarded the Steinacher goal without interruption until matchday 17. In that game he suffered a concussion, and Florschütz took over the goalkeeping position in seven games for the remainder of the season. When Heinzel left Steinach after the season, Florschütz became the undisputed number one goal and was used in all 26 league games in 1964/65. Even after the league relegation in 1965, Bernd Florschütz remained goalkeeper at BSG Motor Steinach until 1975. In the ten seasons that followed the league , he was used 218 times in the second-rate GDR league , which played 268 point games during this period. He then became goalkeeping coach at the BSG and later head of the football section.
