Bernd Heinze

Bernd Heinze (* 1947 in Liebertwolkwitz near Leipzig ) is a civil rights activist and photographer .

Bernd Heinze learned locomotive builders, later studied engineering in Dresden , worked for the Deutsche Reichsbahn , the water management and documented the changes in the GDR as a photographer in the late 1980s . In 1990 he became managing director of the Democratic Awakening in Leipzig, from 1991 media consultant. He worked for various newspapers such as the Sachsen-Sonntag , the Lord's Day and the Leipziger Volkszeitung (LVZ).

Today Bernd Heinze lives in Bautzen , is retired, but still politically active and mainly photographs Lusatia.

Bernd Heinze is one of the three important photographers of the Leipzig song scene and documented all three solidarity concerts from autumn 1989 in the Leipzig churches.
