Bernd Kaiser (archaeologist)

Bernd Kaiser (* 1942 ; † September 15, 1974 near Qom , Iran ) was a German classical archaeologist .

Kaiser studied classical archeology in Mainz , Saarbrücken and Bonn . In 1973 he received his doctorate in Bonn under Nikolaus Himmelmann with a thesis on the Minoan relief. 1973–1974 he was awarded the travel grant of the German Archaeological Institute . During the trip he died in a traffic accident in Iran.

Kaiser was considered a specialist in the field of Minoish- Mycenaean archeology. He took part in the excavations at Tiryns .

He was the partner of Fritz J. Raddatz .
