Bernd Münch

Bernd Münch (born November 8, 1964 ) is a former German soccer player . He was used as a defender, mostly as a libero .

Athletic career

In 1980, Münch came from the youth of the Hessian DJK SG Eintracht Rüsselsheim to the then south-west upper division club 1. FSV Mainz 05 . For the first team of Mainz he played from the 1983/84 season and was 1986 Southwest Cup winner . In the 1987/88 season he was with the team southwest champion and rose to the second division . In the 1988/89 season he played for Mainz 05 in 34 second division games and scored one goal. At the end of the season he rose as the penultimate with the team back to the league and in the following season directly again. After he had been in the professional squad at the beginning of the season in 1990/91, he returned to Eintracht Rüsselsheim as a coach for the following season change - in the meantime he had not played in the 2nd Bundesliga.

In total, Münch played 189 league games for Mainz 05 and scored 22 goals, of which 155 games (21 goals) were in the major league.

Münch later played for the traditional team of 1. FSV Mainz 05, including a charity game against xenophobia in 2016 .
