Bernd Merkel

Bernd Merkel (born October 25, 1938 in Wirges ) is a German dentist and admiral a. D.

Bernd Merkel received his doctorate in Frankfurt in 1967. From 1984 to 1988 he headed the dentist group of the Wilhelmshaven Marine Paramedic Squadron and was at the same time a consulting dentist at the North Sea Marine Section Command. From 1988 to 1992 he was Chief Dentist of the Navy in the Naval Office (Medical Service Department). In 1992 Merkel was transferred to Bonn as an admiralty doctor in the Bundeswehr Medical Service as a stage manager in dentistry in the Bundeswehr .

Bernd Merkel was awarded the Gold Cross of Honor of the German Armed Forces in 1988 , the Otto Loos Medal of the “Dental Association of Frankfurt” in 1992 and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1996.

Bernd Merkel retired in 1996. He is married and has three sons. He lives in Wangerland-Hohenkirchen .
