Bernd Röhner

Bernd Röhner (born January 6, 1939 ) was a soccer player in Zwickau . For the company sports association (BSG) Motor Zwickau , he played in the GDR Oberliga , the highest East German soccer class. He won the GDR soccer cup with BSG Motor in 1963 .

Röhner began his career in the GDR league at the age of 22 with a point game for Motor Zwickau in the 1961/62 season. Just one year later he was a left full-back with 21 league point games in the Motor-Elf tribe. He crowned this season by winning the GDR soccer cup. He was on May 1, 1963 in the Zwickau team, which won the cup final 3-0 over Chemie Zeitz . After the first three league games of the 1963/64 season, his league career broke off abruptly, he was then only used three times in the second half of the season. In the league season 1964/65 he played only two point games at the beginning of the second half of the season. In the summer of 1965, at the age of 26, Röhner retired from Motor Zwickau after a total of 30 league games in four seasons and joined the BSG activist Karl Marx Zwickau , who played in the second-rate GDR league .
