Rudi Neuwirth

Rudolf "Rudi" Neuwirth (born November 9, 1959 in Mainbernheim ) is a German jazz musician ( drums , vocals ).

Live and act

Rudi Neuwirth has been playing the drums since he was fourteen and toured from 1984 with the "Wütrio" sextet around Robert Schulte Hemming, Daniel Guggenheim, Beate Kynast and Rudi Engel. In 1988 he moved to Berlin , where between 1989 and 1997 he directed the weekly jazz sessions at the Quasimodo jazz club . He has given concerts with the African master drummer Famoudou Konate, with Conny Bauer , John Tchicai, Frank Lacy , Rudy Stevenson, Jay Oliver . 1994 winner of the studio project of the Berlin Senate. A quintet CD recording with Kenny Wheeler and ZOOM follows . In 1995 he founded his own quintet "Neuwirth" with Jan von Klewitz , Falk Breitkreuz, Thomy Jordi andTopo Gioia . The quintet works temporarily with guest musicians such as the pianist Leszek Mozder or the Modern String Quartet. Rudi Neuwirth toured with Gayle Tufts , Susanne Betancor , Dirk Bach , Rainer Bielfeldt, Romy Haag and Maren Kroymann .

In 2000 the vocal solo program “Short Loop Stories” premiered.

As a jazz singer, encounters with Julia Hülsmann or Bene Aperdannier follow. 2015 foundation of the Dous "Jazztage" with Andreas Willers on guitar.
