Bernd Rüdiger

Bernd Rüdiger (born July 11, 1942 in Leipzig ) is a German historian and specialist in historical auxiliary sciences .

Bernd Rüdiger studied history at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig (KMU) and received his doctorate there in 1972 with a thesis on popular anti-church opposition and clerical mystical propaganda in the 13th and 14th. Century, shown with special consideration of the field of activity of the Dominican Johannes Tauler . 1979 Rüdiger became a university lecturer for source studies and historical auxiliary sciences at the SME. The habilitation took place in 1980 with the thesis on the subject of source studies methods in the light of Marxist-Leninist theory . In September 1986 he became professor for source studies and historical auxiliary sciences at the history section of the Karl Marx University and between 1986 and 1990 he also headed the Leipzig University Library . He was captain of the reserve of the NVA and a member of the SED . After the fall of the Wall , Rüdiger worked in the Leipzig City Archives .
