Bernd Radig

Bernd Radig (born July 24, 1944 in Güttland (today Polish: Koźliny ) near Dirschau ) is a German computer scientist and physicist .

Life

Radig studied physics at the University of Bonn , among others with Wolfgang Paul . After graduating in 1973, he went to the University of Hamburg . There he received his doctorate in computer science in 1978 . He completed his habilitation in 1982 at the same location . In 1986 he accepted a call to the Technical University of Munich , where he was given the chair for image understanding and knowledge-based systems .

The Artificial Intelligence is the specialty of Bernd Radig. Image analysis , machine vision and the use of surgical robots in medicine are some of his research topics.

Honors

The Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon was awarded to Radig in 1992. In 2002 he received the Pro meritis scientiae et litterarum prize from the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts.
