Pro meritis scientiae et litterarum

Pro meritis scientiae et litterarum is an award from the Free State of Bavaria for personalities who have made a name for themselves in the interplay between science and art . The prize has been awarded by the State Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts since 2000 with up to eight awards per year. The award sculpture is an art object that is modeled on a mind game in which various geometric bodies have to be fitted into surface sections.
