Bernd Upnmoor

Bernd Upnmoor (born May 13, 1940 in Hamburg ) is a German avant-garde filmmaker , film producer , film director , actor , cameraman and film technician. He lives and works in Hamburg.

life and work

Bernd Upnmoor studied physics before turning to film art. In the 1960s and 1970s he worked with Rosa von Praunheim, among others, and for many years with Hellmuth Costard .

He made experimental films , feature films and documentaries, and productions critical of time and society. Upnmoor was active both as a director and producer in charge, as well as a technician and actor. His films have won numerous national and international film awards.

Upnmoor teaches at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg in the Faculty of Design, Media and Information in the Technology Department .

Bernd Upnmoor took part in Documenta 5 in Kassel in 1972 with his own retrospective with several films ( Die Anzeige, Marec, Rosa Lilies, For My Friend Boa, Der Lustmörder, Das Schiff im Eis, Das Sonnenbad, Our Holiday Trip, Raped Virgins ) in the film show department : Portrait Bernd Upnmoor .
