Bernd Wünnemann

Bernd Wünnemann (born July 6, 1951 ) is a German geographer . He works at the Free University in Berlin at the Institute for Geographical Sciences . In 1990 he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the Free University of Berlin.

Life

After attending the Alexander von Humboldt High School in Hamburg-Wilstorf from 1963 to 1970, Wünnemann did his military service in the German Armed Forces in Stade from 1970 to 1974 . He then attended the Harburg Business School from 1975 to 1977, where he graduated from high school in 1977.

From 1978 to 1986 he completed a teaching degree in German, philosophy, geography and geology at the University of Hamburg and the Free University of Berlin and graduated in 1986 with the first state examination. In 1990 he received his doctorate at the FU in Berlin and completed his habilitation there in 2000. He then worked there at the Interdisciplinary Center for Ecosystem Dynamics in Central Asia. In 2006 he was appointed adjunct professor. Since then he has been a research assistant at the Institute for Geographical Sciences.

In addition, Wünnemann has held a visiting professorship at Lanzhou University ( People's Republic of China ) since 2002 . Since 2005 he has been the managing director of Terra4 Gesellschaft für Geosystemanalyse mbH in Blankenfelde .
