Wilstorf ( Low German : Wilsdbod ) is a southern Hamburg district in the Harburg district .

geography

Neighboring communities

Wilstorf borders the Harburg district in the north, Gut Moor in the east, Rönneburg in the southeast, Langenbek in the south, Marmstorf in the southwest and Eißendorf in the west .

City structure

The southernmost part of the Phoenix district is located in Wilstorf . Wilstorf also has a region further south with rather bourgeois houses that were built at the beginning of the 20th century. The district is characterized by the Harburg city park .

history

The name Wilstorf goes back to a village founder named Wiltehard, with the suffix -torf denoting a “people heap ” that has settled. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1202, when the Archbishop of Bremen gave the dean of the Hamburg church patronage over the church of Wilstorf. In 1888 the village was incorporated into Harburg and became part of the Hamburg area in 1937 with the Greater Hamburg Law .
