Bernd Winkler (born August 13, 1979 ) is an Austrian football player. He is currently involved with SV Austria Salzburg .

life and career

Winkler began his career with his home club USV Abtenau. In 1998 he joined the squad of the Bundesliga club SV Austria Salzburg , where he played four games. In 1999 he went to SV Wörgl in the second Austrian league, from there he went on to SV Braunau and later to Carinthia to BSV Juniors Villach . In 2002/03 he was again allowed to play three games in the Bundesliga before he went back to Carinthia in 2003. From 2004 to 2006 he played in the second team of the new FC Red Bull Salzburg, the Red Bull Salzburg Juniors. In 2006/07 he supported the Upper Austrian club 1. FC Vöcklabruck in the third Austrian division before returning to the Bundesliga in 2007 at SCR Altach . In 2008/2009 he played again at 1. FC after Vöcklabruck's rise, this time in the first division . Then he moved to SV Austria Salzburg in the 1st Salzburg regional league , which he scored as top scorer with 23 goals for the championship title and thus for promotion to the Regionalliga West .
