Bernd von der Heide

Bernd von der Heide (born April 2,  1948 ) is a German basketball official .

Life

In 1991 he became director of Fallstein-Gymnasium Osterwieck and came into contact with the sport in the place where basketball had been played since the 1930s. In 1996 he became the chairman of the Osterwieck sports club.

From 2002 to 2012 von der Heide was chairman of the Basketball Association of Saxony-Anhalt (BVSA), after which he was appointed BVSA honorary president.

In 2010 von der Heide received the Federal Cross of Merit . This award was given for his voluntary work in basketball, but also for his work as a school director and as the author of local chronicles, for example the municipality of Oderwald and the town of Bornum . In 2012 he was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor of the German Basketball Association (DBB). At DBB he was a member of the archive and documentation commission.
