Berndt Erik Egerbladh (born May 1, 1932 in Transtrand , Sweden ; † March 2, 2004 in Sollentuna ) was a Swedish composer , jazz pianist and television presenter .

Life

Bernd Egerbladh was the son of the Swedish genealogist Ossian Egerbladh. His niece was the dancer and composer Birgitta Egerbladh . He grew up in Umeå . As a self-taught pianist, he played in jazz bars and dance bands. In 1954 he passed his state examination as a primary school teacher and in 1959 as a specialist teacher. He taught until 1967. He then worked as a music producer at Sveriges Radio Umeå before he was poached in 1969 by the Swedish TV station SVT 2 . There he took over the musical direction for programs by Östen Warnerbring and Cornelis Vreeswijk .

From 1974 Egerbladh took over as a presenter of the television show Två och en flygel . From the first broadcast on March 24, 1974 to the last broadcast on December 31, 1990, he took over the moderation of over 100 episodes, with each episode receiving a musical guest with whom he played the piano together. The first guest was the actress and singer Grynet Molvig . Until the last guest Lill-Babs , Siw Malmkvist , Lars Forssell , Arja Saijonmaa and Brita Borg took part in the show. He had great national success with the television program Jag minns ... , which was devoted to music from 1940 to 1969 in over 30 broadcasts.

Egerbladh had been suffering from heart disease for a year when he suffered a heart attack in late February 2004 . He was admitted to the hospital, where he died after a week on March 2, 2004 at the age of 71. He left behind his wife, two daughters and two grandchildren. 230 people attended his memorial service, including the former Minister of State Ingela Thalén , the actress Lena Nyman , the singer Ann-Kristin Hedmark and the actor Janne Carlsson .
