Berndt Katter (born  January 15, 1932 in Espoo , †  July 20, 2014 in Turku ) was a Finnish pentathlete .

Career

Katter took part in the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne and the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome . In 1956 he finished 16th in the individual, while he won the bronze medal with the team, which also included Väinö Korhonen and Olavi Mannonen . In Rome he improved to 12th place in the individual . In the team standings he just missed a medal with fourth place this time.

At world championships he was runner-up with the team in 1959 .

At the national level, Katter was also successful in water polo , fencing and swimming . Katter was married and had three children.
