Bernhard A. Koch (Bernhard Alexander Koch, * 1966 in Feldkirch ) is a law scholar and university professor at the Institute for Civil Law at the University of Innsbruck . Bernhard A. Koch was born in Feldkirch ( Vorarlberg , Austria ), grew up there and went to school.

In 1998 he completed his habilitation in the subjects of civil law and comparative law at the University of Innsbruck on the subject of injunctive relief from rental contract prohibitions: dogmatic principles with examples from Germany and Austria compared with the USA .

Professional background

Bernhard A. Koch was a study assistant at the Institute for Roman Law at the University of Innsbruck from 1985 to 1989 and contract assistant there from 1990 to 1992. In 1990/1991 he was a legal intern at the District and Regional Court of Innsbruck. From 1993 to 1999 again as a university assistant at the Institute for Roman Law and from 1999 to 2003 also as a university lecturer there. In 2001 he was given leave of absence and until 2002 moved to the European Center for Damage Compensation and Insurance Law (ECTIL) in Vienna . From 2002 to 2003 he was at the Research Center for European Damage Law at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna. Since 2003 he has been a university professor in the successor to Heinrich Mayrhofer at the Institute for Civil Law at the University of Innsbruck.

Bernhard A. Koch has been the Consejo Asesor Internacional of the Spanish Revista de Derecho Privado since 2008 . Since 2010 he has been Deputy General Editor of the Journal of European Tort Law.
