Laredo is a city in the La Libertad region of western Peru . It is located in the province of Trujillo and is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .

The city had a population of 23,828 at the 2017 census. 10 years earlier this was 22,165. Laredo is 7.7 km east-northeast of the regional capital Trujillo . The city is located at an altitude of 89  m in the river valley of the Río Moche . Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the area.
