Bernhard Cormann

Bernhard Cormann (born December 6, 1782 in Borghorst ; † November 25, 1837 there ) was district administrator of the Steinfurt district from 1817 to 1837 .

Life

Bernhard Cormann was born as the son of the married couple Franz Caspar Cormann and Bernhardine Reismann. After graduating from high school, Bernhard Cormann studied law at the University of Göttingen and entered the civil service on May 13, 1807. At first he served as a tax recipient (tax collector) in the districts of Borghorst and Steinfurt. In May 1809 he was appointed grand ducal and French mayor and in November 1813 mayor of the town of Borghorst. The district government of Münster appointed him on August 9, 1813, subject to the approval of the government as district commissioner. The ministerial approval was given on January 20, 1817, so that on June 9, 1827 he was definitively appointed under dispensation from the examination to the district administrator of the Steinfurt district. He was married to Maria Elisabeth Moll.
