Bernhard Docke

Bernhard Docke (* 1955 ) is a German lawyer and criminal defense attorney .

He studied law at the University of Bremen . He has been a licensed attorney since 1983. Docke primarily publishes in the field of criminal law and criminal procedure law. In 2006 he received the Carl von Ossietzky Medal for his commitment to the liberation of Murat Kurnaz from Guantanamo . In 2007 he was awarded the Werner Holtfort Prize for outstanding performance in the defense of civil and human rights and the Udo Lindenberg Prize in recognition of his commitment to combating racism and xenophobia . He is a partner in the Heinrich Hannovers law firm in Bremen.

Bernhard Docke is a member of the Lawyers 'Disciplinary Court for Lawyers of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, the Criminal Law Working Group of the German Lawyers ' Association and the Association of Lower Saxony and Bremen defense lawyers; Since March 1, 2012, he has been a member of the Human Rights Committee of the Federal Bar Association for a three-year term .
