Bernhard Fellmann (born May 23, 1904 in Breslau ; † March 25, 1984 in Dresden ) was a German interior designer and painter .

Life

Bernhard Fellmann was born in Silesia . After attending primary school, he learned the trade of a carpenter and passed the master craftsman's examination as such in 1927. He then went on to train as an interior designer at the Tritschler furniture factory in Frankenstein. In 1928 he moved from Silesia to the Saxon state capital Dresden, where he worked as an interior designer from 1928 to 1969. His working hours were interrupted by military service and the ensuing captivity, from which he first returned to Dippoldiswalde in 1946 and then to Dresden with his family in 1948. In parallel to his work as an interior designer, Fellmann drew views from Dresden.

After 1969 he only worked as a visual artist, whereby his works can be classified as "naive art". He created numerous watercolors and drawings; these were often created in ink, but also with pen and brush and in sepia. He also liked to work with black crayon. Among other things, he recorded views of his hometown and its districts, including Loschwitz, Mockritz and Plauen. Because of his architectural skills, many of these watercolors and drawings are distinguished by their attention to detail in the architectural design.

In 1975 Fellmann moved from Dresden Neustadt to Zschertnitz. In the later years of his life he created the pictorial story that was also typical for him.
