Bernhard Forck (musician)

Bernhard Forck (* 1963 in Altdöbern ) is a German violinist and conductor .

Life

Bernhard Forck received his first violin lessons at the age of five. He studied with Eberhard Feltz at the Berlin Music Academy , where he also enjoyed playing the baroque violin and the short-necked violin. Forck devoted himself to historical performance practice and took courses with Ingrid Seifert , Catherine Mackintosh and Nikolaus Harnoncourt . From 1986 to 1991 he was a member of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra (since 2006: Konzerthausorchester ). Forck also joined the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin , founded two years earlier, in 1984 , where he is concertmaster. He is a member of the Berlin Baroque Soloists and in 1994 he founded the Manon Quartet Berlin with musicians from the Oriol Ensemble . With the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Bernhard Forck regularly gives concerts in the musical centers of Europe. He toured the Middle East, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia, North and South America. From 2007 to 2019 Bernhard Forck was artistic director of the Handel Festival Orchestra in Halle .
