Life
Bernhard Grassoldt entered the Jesuit order in 1712 and, after completing his studies and taking his vows, devoted himself to the subject. He taught ancient languages and rhetoric and then philosophy and theology in various Jesuit colleges . Later he was prefect of studies and chancellor of the University of Olomouc . His writings, belonging to canon law and casuistry , were popular handbooks of their time and were popular with young priests. These works include:
Grassoldt's ascetic work on the glory of the Lord's Mother ( Maria in coelos assumpta corona 12 stellarum incincta, totidem quaestionibus theologico-scripturisticis concelebrata , Olomouc 1747) is in the tradition of Baroque Jesuit Mariology .
