Bernhard Schemmer

Bernhard Schemmer (born October 23, 1950 in Reken , Westphalia ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Career

education and profession

After secondary school education (1966) and training as a surveying technician (1966–1969), Schemmer studied surveying technology from 1969 to 1972 at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and graduated as a Dipl.-Ing. FH surveying. From 1972 to 1976 he studied geodesy at the Technical University of Hanover (graduation Dipl.-Ing.Thermessung). After his internship from 1976 to 1978 he became a surveyor. Since 1979 he has been working as a self-employed surveying engineer.

politics

Schemmer has been a member of the CDU since 1976. Since 1979 he has been a member of the council of the Reken community and was also chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from 1996 to 2014 . From 1989 to 1995 he was a member of the Borken district council .

Schemmer had been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since 1995. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005 , he was directly elected to the state parliament with 61.0 percent of the votes in constituency 79 ( Coesfeld I - Borken III ), where he took his seat in the state elections in 2010 with 53.9% and in 2012 with 48, 3% defended. He is a member of the Committee for Urban Development and Housing and the Transport Committee of the State Parliament. He did not run for the 2017 state election and left parliament.

Private

Schemmer is married for the second time and has three children.
