Bernhard Voet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bernhard Voet (* in the 15th century; † April 1465 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Bernhard Voet was born as the son of Johann Voet zur Kolvenburg and his wife Heilwigis. He was first mentioned in a document on March 11, 1440 as the canon of Münster. On July 31, 1450 he joined the protest against the intended election of Walram von Moers , whose election led to the Munster collegiate feud . Whether Bernhard was therefore banned by the bishop cannot be determined with certainty. The canons Hermann Droste zu Vischering , Hugo von Schagen and Heinrich Korff called Schmising , who also belonged to the protest movement, received an episcopal ban. It is also not documented whether Hermann von Hövel received a ban. Bernhard died shortly before April 19, 1465, when his cathedral preacher fell to Sander Morrien by papal promise .
