Bernhard Vogel (born October 21, 1913 in Hohenems ; † September 12, 2000 in Dornbirn ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Vogel was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 1964 to 1974 for the SPÖ and briefly in 1974 a member of the Austrian Federal Council sent by the state parliament .

Life

Bernhard Vogel was born on October 21, 1913 in Hohenems in Vorarlberg . In the years 1919 to 1928 he first attended the elementary and then the community school in Hohenems. During the Second World War, Vogel was drafted into the military and used on the Eastern Front. There he was eventually taken into prison by the Soviets for two and a half years . After his return to Vorarlberg, he worked as a weaver in the FM Hämmerle textile works in Dornbirn . In 1956 he was elected works council chairman in this company, from 1962 he was also politically active in his hometown as a functionary of the SPÖ.

In the 1964 state elections in Vorarlberg , Bernhard Vogel was elected for the first time as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament, where he represented the SPÖ until 1974. Also in 1964 he became a councilor in the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Vorarlberg. From 1967 to 1973 he was also on the central board of textile workers in Vienna. On July 2, 1974, Bernhard Vogel was entrusted with the further exercise of the Federal Council mandate by Viktor Schwarzmann , which he held until November 4, 1974. From 1974, Vogel became involved as a functionary of the Pensioners' Association in Dornbirn as chairman and at state level as chairman's deputy.
