Viktor Schwarzmann

Viktor Schwarzmann (born October 19, 1912 in Sonntag ; † November 30, 1990 in Feldkirch ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1966 to 1969, Schwarzmann was a member of the Vorarlberg Landtag for the SPÖ and a member of the Austrian Federal Council from 1969 to 1974 .

Viktor Schwarzmann was born on October 19, 1912, the son of Felix and Elisabeth Schwarzmann in the Großwalsertal community on Sunday . After attending elementary school in Braz and secondary school in Bregenz , he completed an apprenticeship as a state-certified stenographer at the Lustenau commercial school . From 1926 to 1933 Viktor Schwarzmann initially worked on his parents' farm before he became a professional soldier in the Austrian Armed Forces in 1933 due to previous unemployment . In the war years from 1939 to 1945, Schwarzmann subsequently served as a soldier in the German Wehrmachtin the war. In 1944, Schwarzmann suffered a serious war injury that made him unfit for the front.

After returning from the war, Viktor Schwarzmann and his family, founded in 1939, moved to Lochau , the home community of his wife Mathilde, and finally joined the employment office in Bregenz, where he rose to the position of specialist inspector until his retirement in 1974.

Political career

Immediately after returning from the war, Viktor Schwarzmann joined the newly founded Socialist Party in 1945, and he became its secretary and deputy local party chairman in Lochau . From 1946 Viktor Schwarzmann became politically active as a member of the community council in his new home community Lochau. From 1949 to 1981 Schwarzmann held the office of local party chairman in Lochau, and in 1950 he was elected to the local council by the local council.

On March 30, 1966, Viktor Schwarzmann was sworn in for the first time as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament . He succeeded his late party colleague Anna Mayr and became a member of the agricultural and social policy committee of the state parliament. Schwarzmann remained a member of the state parliament until the end of the 20th legislative period and retired after the state elections in Vorarlberg in 1969 in the first session of the newly elected 21st Vorarlberg state parliament on October 29, 1969. In the same session he was sent for a legislative period - until July 2, 1974 - by the Vorarlberg state parliament to the Federal Council in Vienna. From 1974, the year of his retirement, he acted as chairman of the Vorarlberg Pensioners' Association .
