Bernhard of Friesen

Bernhard Maximilian Freiherr von Friesen (born May 29, 1825 in Frankenthal ; † October 4, 1889 in Blasewitz ) was a German administrative officer, manor owner and member of parliament.

Life

Bernhard von Friesen studied law at the University of Leipzig . In 1847 he became a member of the Corps Misnia Leipzig . In the same year he joined the Corps Guestphalia Leipzig . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. He was district administrator and manor owner in Dortmund . In 1856, Friesen was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia as a representative of the Princes of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein . In the Prussian military he reached the rank of cavalry officer .
