Bert Beverly Beach

Bert Beverly Beach (* 1928 in Switzerland ) is an American Adventist theologian , university professor and philanthropist .

Life

Bert Beach is a son of American parents. After his theological studies he became a doctor of theology doctorate and taught at universities in different countries. He speaks six languages ​​(including German), has worked as a teacher and lecturer in Italy , England and the USA and is a popular speaker around the world. Beach was general secretary of the "International Association for Religious Freedom" (IRLA) until 1995 and general secretary of the "Worldwide Christian Communities", a non-denominational organization of worldwide churches.

In February 2007 he gave a speech at the world conference in Cape Town ( South Africa ) on the connection between faith and freedom. He particularly considered the development and deepening of the Judeo-Christian dialogue as a prerequisite for the interreligious and interdenominational dialogue for the development of faith in the spirit of freedom as a form of the struggle for human dignity . In particular, he dealt with the variants of religious fundamentalism , which he believes counteracts all humane coexistence in one human race. In an interview in August 1995 with the Shabbat Shalom newspaper , he pleaded for abandoning all prejudices and resentments that have been practiced so far towards those who think and believe differently.

Since 1967, Beach represented his general conference as general secretary at the World Council of Churches in Geneva, and although there was no membership, he was able to initiate cooperation with the Seventh-day Adventists . He was called to serve as the personal representative of the fellowship on the Faith and Order Commission. He was a member of the Christian Peace Conference , in whose IV All-Christian Peace Assembly he participated in 1971 in Prague .

Bert Beverly Beach taught in Germany as a guest lecturer in 2006 at the Friedensau Theological College , which is run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
