Career
Carter was registered as an amateur with the AFC New Brighton from 1931 . In the 1931/32 season he made four appearances in the Third Division North , when six different players occupied the position of right winger during the season (in addition to Carter, these were Robert Curr , Tommy Lewis , Archie Pollock , Bill Ratcliffe and Sam Spencer ) , while Jimmy Smedley played all 40 league games on the left winger position .
