Bert Hoppe

Bert Hoppe (* 1970 in Gevelsberg ) is a German historian , journalist and publisher's editor .

Hoppe studied history, economics and art history at the Technical University of Berlin , Humboldt University of Berlin (HU Berlin) and European University Viadrina in Frankfurt / Oder from 1992 to 1999 . From 1999 to 2004 he was a research assistant at the HU Berlin and at the Heinrich A. Winklers chair . He received his doctorate in 2004 as part of a project by the Joint Commission for Research into the Recent History of German-Russian Relations . His doctoral thesis was published in 2007 under the title In Stalin's Allegiance. Moscow and the KPD published 1928–1933 .

Since 2004 Hoppe has been working as a freelance scientist and author, among others for the Berliner Zeitung , Deutschlandfunk and Süddeutsche Zeitung . Hoppe works on the edition project The Persecution and Murder of European Jews by National Socialist Germany 1933–1945 . He has been a non-fiction editor at Rowohlt Verlag in Berlin since the beginning of 2012 .
