Bert Palinckx

Bert Palinckx (born February 5, 1962 ) is a Dutch jazz and fusion musician ( double bass , composition ).

Live and act

Palinckx has been a professional musician since 1980. He studied double bass with Hein van de Geyn (jazz) and Henk Stoop (classical). With the saxophonist Sjoerd Rolsma and the drummer Jan Wirken he formed the Her Werken Trio , which won the Meervaart Jazzpodium in 1981 and released an album at BVHaast the following year. Together with his brother Jacques he founded the group Palinckx & Palinckx in 1983 , from which Palinckx developed, which existed until 2007. With this group he recorded two records and ten CDs and played at numerous national and international festivals, including the Taktlos Festival , Angelica Festival, Ulrichsberger Kaleidophon , Victoriaville, North Sea Jazz Festival and the Groningen Jazz Marathon. Since 2008 he has played in the group Vlek . He also worked with Cor Fuhler . His playing is powerful and creative thanks to advanced techniques.

Since 1999 Palickx has been artistic director of the November Music Festival in 's-Hertogenbosch; he also served as a member of various advisory boards and juries, including the 2012 Johan Wagenaar Foundation's Oeuvre Prize.
